Depends on pain type: Are you talking 'congestion' or sharp pains? Sharp chest pains with deep inspiration are usually due to ribs which are locked down (exhalation position). Inhaling causes the other ribs to rise, but that one is stuck. An osteopathic physician can both listen to lungs and do a good general physical, but can also use her hands to find a stuck rib or vertebra and fix it with gentle manipulation.
