Cholecystectomy...: Aka, gallbladder removal. Gallstones are made by the gallbladder and will re-form if we just remove the stones. Thankfully, people do very well without them and they can almost-always be removed via outpatient laparoscopic surgery, returning to normal activities in 7-10 days. If you have gallstones and are having attacks of pain, i recommend that you see a general surgeon.
