Recovery: Eating disorders can be deadly. Studies have shown, repeatedly in fact, that the longer the residential treatment the better the prognosis. Of course, no one treatment works for everyone. Then, outpatient treatment is essential once the residential is over. Some may need several bouts if residential treatment, especially in severe cases.
