Is schizophrenia genetic?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Based on excellent studies looking at twins who were adopted at birth in certain scandinavian counties, one's risk of developing schizophrenia is about 10% if one parent has schizophrenia. The odds rise to 50% for offspring if both parents have it. By the way, there are good treatments now available for schizophrenia.
