Yes, qualified : It should not be taken at the same time as thyroid medication because it interferes with absorption. It can cause iron overload in conjunction with hormone replacement therapy. If ferritin is less than 20 it is necessary to take iron and eat an iron rich diet.

Iron will interfere: with thyroid hormone replacement. Thyroid hormones should be taken on an empty stomach and not with other medications as these will interfere with thyroid hormone absorption.
