The common Estrogens used are ethinyl estradiol, mestranol, while the commonly used progestins are norethindrone, levonorgestrel, norgestimate, and drosperinone. There are some pills that only contain progestins, and these are used in breastfeeding moms or people who have a contraindication to estrogen.
