Autoimmune: Since psoriasis is an autoimmune disease of the skin often triggered by a food allergen in the gut, it seems likely that the hair follicles that reside in the skin will also be destroyed by the same auto antibodies eating away at the skin. The key to treatment is to find out the underlying cause of both and rid the body of the trigger.

Scalp Psoriasis: If someone has moderate to severe scalp psoriasis there is a possibility that they may experience some hairloss or thinning. If the scalp psoriasis is treated, then the hair will usually regrow and thicken. Otherwise, there is little evidence to support a link between psoriasis and hairloss.
