Various causes: Nipple discharge can be normal for some. In general, white, milky, yellow and green can be normal. Blood or a brownish color can suggest a more serious condition.
If this is a new finding, you should contact your doctor for evaluation.

Nipple discharge: Nipple discharge that is transparent or sticky should be evaluated by your doctor. Clear and sticky discharge is very much like plasma, since that is the source of the secretion. Unilateral spontaneous clear or bloody discharge is considered suspicious and requires a full workup.

What could cause bloody nipple discharge?

Papilloma: An polyp in the breast duct(papilloma) is the most common cause of bloody discharge but breast cancer should be eliminated as the cause. A mammogram and ultrasound can show the lesion. A core needle biopsy can make the diagnosis. In some cases as special mammogram with dye (ductogram or galactogram) may need to be performed.
