No: Shaken baby syndrome refers to injury to the brain which occurs when an infant is abused by violent shaking. Damage occurs to the brain, and often the eyes. These can not be treated or repaired, but the degree of impairment in each child is different. The most important "treatment" is preventing further abuse and putting the child in a safe, loving environment.

Yes: After baby is removed from any further danger, management focuses on dealing with the acute brain injury, then recovery. Damaged brain cells often don't recover, but babies a greater ability (than adults) to re-wire some of the circuits. Evaluation by pt & ot's in a developmental center can identify areas where gains can be made. Therapy, nutrition & good basic care can maximize potential.

Well, yes: Of course any injury can be treated. Shaken baby - or abusive head trauma, is an inflicted injury involving traumatically injury the head and brain of an infant through shaking, slamming or other trauma. That trauma causes injuries, and doctors can treat and deal with the injuries as they would any other trauma.

Supportive care: Shaken baby syndrome is one cause brain injury that can lead to long term disabilities. It fits as a cause of cerebral palsy, and recovery and treatments are similar to CP from other causes. Infants have more capacity to improve than adults from the same injury, so pt, ot & speach rx may maximize improvement. Unfortunately some SBS cases have major brain injury & may not gain much function.
