A member asked:

Can i "smell" an std? is a foul smell an indication of it? any more indicators?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not really: Stds are tough to spot. That's why it's wise to use protection if you are concerned. At times, vaginal odor may be a female condition called bacterial vaginosis. That's not an std. Trichomonis is an std that infects the vagina (women) and urethra of men. In women, it may also cause a vag odor. Herpes, chlamydia, gonorrhea and other STDs are not related to an odor. Be safe.
