A member asked:

Is it possible for claritin (loratadine) to stop working for a person after a lot of use?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sort of: In general, if allergy medications cease to control symptoms, it's not that the medication has gotten less effective, but rather that allergies have gotten worse. Antihistamines don't lose effectiveness with regular use and one is not likely to be tremendously more effective than another.
