Shouldn't be bandaid: Dose packs have their place, but in my practice, i see them used to frequently for "pain, " without a diagnosis. Certainly a flare in ra, spondylitis, and other dx's may benefit, since it is very rapid in action. Great for poison ivy too. But other drugs for rheumatic problems should appreciably negate the need for dose-packs.
