A member asked:

Are girls getting their periods sooner now than in past?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

10 to 13: Most girls have begun their periods by age 14. The average now is 11, which is earlier than a generation ago due to better nutrition and earlier sexual development in the usa. The closer one lives to the equator the earlier the start, and vice versa for the girls in countries in the extreme northern hemisphere.
