Excellent Results: For extensive guttate psoriasis, narrow band uvb is highly effective for lesional clearance or improvement. For those with concomitant streptococcal pharyngitis, the lesions will return if the bacterial infection is not treated.

Treatment of Choice: Guttate psoriasis is sometimes associated with strep throat infection and most dermatologists will treat you for that when you are first diagnosed with guttate psoriasis. However, narrow band uvb is the treatement of choice for this type of psoriasis. Topical & systemic treatments are available. After it clears, it can come back but everyone is different.
