Yes and No: Imperforate hymen comes in all types from complete to having openings. If it is complete and has no openings, then you will not have a period but may have the monthly pain. If it has openings, then you will see the period. Hope this helps.

Yes, possibly: Jmarie, there are different degrees of blockage. Yes, some may still have ability to let blood pass even through a small hymensl opening. If you are very sensitive there as well (from your last post) make sure there is no dryness or other skin conditions. Sometimes, vaginsl lubrication will help. Try self-inspection of the area to see if anything appears unusual. Best to get a formal md exam.
