What kinds of effects does asperger's syndrome have on teens and adults?

Asperger's: The major problem clinically speaking is that people with asperger's have difficulty in social interaction and seem aloff to other people. If they retian their repetative behavior into eens and adulthood this can be off putiing too. They may or may not have trouble finding jobs or finding a spouse. However one should remember that not everyone with social skills problems has asperger's.

Asperger's syndrome : Problems range from very mild if the syndrome is mild, to severe. In teenage years, peers will start to see the asperger's child as "wierd" or "different" as they themselves change from children (who are generally accepting of everybody) to teens who are much more conscious of "normal" and "abnormal." adult function is based on severity of disorder + psychological effects of their growth & dev.

Social constraints: Peoople with asperger's disorder want friends and social interactionbut they lack the social pragmatic skills to maintain friendships. They can be helped to develop social skills by attending Social Pragmatics programs. Without this type of help, individuals with Asperger's feel socially isolated.
