3 modalities: There are 3 modalities to treat cancer- surgery ( if localized and if possible to be done) . A radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Treatment of cancer can use only one modality or could require combination of 2 or all of the above- depending on the type of cancer, the stage, the goal of therapy and overall condition of the patient.

Yes. Depends...: Expanding on what others have said, the main options for treating cancer are: 1) chemotherapy (cytotoxic/classical vs. Newer/"targeted"), 2) surgery, 3) radiation. Other therapies include: 1) endocrine therapy (could be considered a chemical=chemo therapy in some sense), 2) immune therapy - eg cancer vaccines, monoclonal antibodies (also a targeted immune therapy, stem cell transplant, 3) other.
