Determine Cause: There are many etiologies of sudden hair loss in a 20 year old man. Sudden weight loss, recent illness , certain medications, high fevers, and a recent hospitalization has been associated with rapid hair loss. This type is called telegenic effluvium. Consultation with a physician will help to elucidate the cause and administer appropriate treatment.
