0.3 mg epinephrine: Each Epipen (epinephrine) autoinjector delivers 0.3 mg of a 1:1000 Epinephrine (adrenaline) solution. An Epipen (epinephrine) jr delivers half (0.15 mg) that amount & are primarily used in children. These self-injection devices contain about 2 cc of clear liquid inside & about 80% of that remains after use. In most cases, 1 dose may be enough but if a hospital is not close by or the reaction worsens, a 2nd dose may be needed.

EpiPen (epinephrine) above 54#: Although the pdr states that Epipen (epinephrine) junior should be given to children >60 pounds, many allergists choose a lower minimal weight. A common cross-over is Epipen (epinephrine) junior for children up to 54 pounds and Epipen (epinephrine) for everyone heavier.
