Why are bronchodilators and corticosteroids often used together?

Better control: Asthma is inflammation and bronchospasm (as well as mucus production) so a product that treats inflammation and one that treats the muscle spasm addresses the major components of asthma. It is more convenient to use one inhaler vs. Two, thus the combination inhalers for asthma.
