How does acupressure/acupuncture work?

Not exactly known: The mechanism of acupuncture is not entirely known, as is true for most of the pharmaceuticals we use. There is a local release of chemicals at the acupuncture points and brain centers release endorphins, neurotransmitters, and hormones that are relaxing, stress-relieving, mood and immune regulating. In addition, acupuncture increases local circulation and relaxes muscles.

See below.: Serotonin, norepinephrine, sbustance p, gaba, dopamine, b- endorphin, acth, dynorphins, leucine - enkephalin & methionine-enkephalin are impacted by acupuncture. Both acupupressure & acupuncture use major points to remove obstructions of lymph drainage, blood circulation, nerve conduction & chi. They balance energy locally or along meridians. Both can decrease infllamation.
