Several herbs: Chaste tree (vitus agnus-castus) at 20-40 mg/day for 8 weeks seems comparable to fluoxetine 20-40 mg/day for relieving symptoms of pmdd -- especially breast tenderness, swelling, cramps, and food cravings. Also, some clinical research shows that taking a specific saffron (crocus sativa) extract 15 mg twice daily can help with the depressive symptoms. Possibly st. John's wort also (preliminary).
