Low Hgb: Hemglobin is a molecule found in red blood cells to carry oxygen. It is composed of 2 globulin proteins and iron. So to raise it, you need to know if it is the iron that is missing from your body ( most common) or an underproduction of globulin. Get a serum iron level and if low, replace iron to normal levels. Also check for sources of bleeding such as from the gut. Stop iron once corrected.
