Many: It may be difficult to effectively perform an "intervention" if one does not have the proper training. Generally, all of the person's family and friends gather around and tell the person how his or her drinking has affected them. This may help or may lead to adverse consequences for which those who are gathered, are ill equipped to handle. The person may actually become suicidal or dangerous.
