What is the % breakdown in the general population between symptomatic external and symptomatic internal hemorrhoids? 25% external 75% internal?

May not be known: Many people have or have had hemorrhoids. I am not aware of anyone trying to figure out how many are internal, external, or mixed, in origin. Perhaps the typical initial treatments would be similar anyway. Hemorrhoids are also classified as 1st-4th degree, depending on whether or not they stick out of the anus, which mixes definitions up some more. A web search also did not find any % statistics.
