See Below: It is a dimple found in the sacrum or buttocks area. The concern is if the dimple is above the gluteal fold. If so, an ultrasound of the spine is normally completed to look for a tethered spinal cord.

Nothing serious: A skin dimple is a deep and sometimes narrow cleft in the skin of the inner glutal cleft. Times it may indicate a associated defect with underlying structures like the sacrum (bone) or the spinal cord. Usually these can be ruled out by ultrasound. A deep dimple may predispose a child to pilonidal disease as an adolescent or adult in latter life. Natural history is unclear.
