Evening Primrose: Fibrocystic changes are normal findings in breast tissue. For most of us, these are more prominent around the menstrual cycle. For others, it can occur at any time and usually leads to pain and increased lumpiness. The most common remedy is to decrease caffeine. Evening primrose taken by mouth is helpful. Vitamin e is recommended as well.

Homeopathic remedies: I agree with dr. Hampton about the usefulness of vitamin e, evening primrose, and stopping caffeine. But these are not homeopathic remedies, of which there are at least 50 that can be useful in patients with fibrocystic breasts. Thorough casetaking is essential in selecting an effective remedy for the individual patient. Some include phytolacca, lac caninum, and calcarea carbonicum.
