Murmurs...: A diastolic murmur just means a sound heard during the diastolic filling phase of the pumping chambers of the heart. For example, mitral stenosis causes a diastolic murmur as blood flows from la to lv during diastole. Aortic regurgitation is a diastolic murmur as blood leaks back through the aortic valve.
