Asystole: Indication for defibrillation are tachyarrhythmias, not asystole.

You should not: If it is truly asystole, you should not. Fine ventricular fibrillation can resemble asystole to the stupid computer on many defibrillators, so, if you think it's v-fib you should shock the patient. Otherwise skip it, you are flogging the dead.
