What could cause pain in the leg?

Dr. J Roberts answered

Hip arthritis: Degenerative hip arthritis (a variant of djd, degenerative joint disease) is common. Chronic standing stresses the hip joint with the femoral head in the acetabulum (i.e., ball & socket). The erosion of the bursa within the joint eventually causes pain. Other causes which need exclusion are neurogenic and vascular causes. Herniated discs refer to the former; aorta-iliac disease, the latter.
