Depending on age: If we are talking about the shoulder, most tendon tears associated with dislocations occur in patients after 50 or in bigger traumatic injuries. It is usually the rotator cuff that tears and it is usually quite painful and debilitating. Most of these end up with surgery to repair the rotator cuff. Unfortunately, the surgery also tends to be more painful.
