Spastic Bowel (SB): The acual incidence of symptoms that we relate to ibs is extremely high with either constipation of diarrhea, abdominal cramps, bloating, etc. The actual diagnosis of ibs whether costipation-predominate or diarrhea-predominate, is now very tightly regulated by international criteria that limits the numbers of those that carry the diagnosis. It doesn't, however, change how we work up and treat sb.
