Several: With chronic infection at risk for liver cancer (hcc) and routine screening is needed....Most adults clear infection without need for hospitalization ..... Resolved hep b or infection in past that your body has cleared has risk of reinsurance if immune system is compromised like with chemotherapy or long term steroids .... There are some very well tolerated oral medications for chronic infections.

Myths:: 1. Hepatitis B is rare so I won't get it. 2. Hepatitis B is curable. 3. I can get hepatitis B from contaminated seafood. 4. I'm only sick from hepatitis B if I get yellowed (jaundiced) 5. If I take birth control pills, I can't get hepatitis B. 6. Hepatitis vaccine will cure my hepatitis B. 7. I can't get hepatitis B if I take the vaccine first. 8. Hepatitis B means death 100% of the time.
