I have a weird belly scar; my parents said i had a congenital deformity! what could it have been?

Depends: It could be an umbilical hernia but it could also be band of scar that could distort the belly button. More extreme conditions could be gastroschisis or omphalocele, which occur at childbirth where the abdominal contents have herniated outside of the abdominal cavity.
