Not a good idea: Visine contains drugs which constrict the blood vessels on the surface of the eye. This "gets the red out". However, when used on a continual basis, these drugs can actually cause long lasting redness. It is best to use artificial tears specifically designed for use with contacts. These are available over the counter.
