Not always: To safely drive day or night, you should probably wear your glasses, as you have noted. Any other activity, or at least those which do not involve rapidly-moving vehicles, sports, projectiles, people, or objects, you can probably skip it; medically speaking, wearing glasses for nearsighted correction makes no difference at your age. You just won't see things very clearly from a distance.
