How long you are usually in hospital for an intramedullary rod removal?

IM rod: Can usually be done as an outpatient procedure, assuming no medical issues of surgical complications. Typically an incision is made in same location as when rod inserted. Instruments to remove the rod are attached, and the rod is withdrawn. Many times, at the ends of the rod, small screws are inserted to fix the rod to the bone. If so, they need to be removed before withdrawing the rod.
