?allergies: If by a cold you mean runny nose, watery eyes, cough and low grade fevers, then if these symptoms have been going on for three weeks you may have allergies ("hay fever") and should see you doctor who can confirm the diagnosis and manage your symptoms.

Antibiotics: A "cold" that lasts beyond 7-10 days may be an indication that you have a bacterial rather than a viral infection causing your symptoms. This may require a round of antibiotics to resolve.
