Quite common: Lower abdominal and low back pain is actually quite common during menstrual flow. As long as it resolves once the period is over, she should be fine. Motrin/aleve can be quite helpful for such symptoms related to menstrual pain etc...If symptoms are severe, consult doc for eval/treatment. Wish her luck for me.
