When does food expire when it only has "sell-by" dates?

Depends: It is ok to eat food after the sell by date but use common sense if you see abnormal growth or smell do not eat it. Cooking is always a safe option also. It is ok to eat fruits and vegtable with a little brown stuff on the edges.

Hard to say: It depends on the food. Generally if it looks discolored or bad, has mold growing, smells bad then don't eat it. Use common sense about eating the food.
