Yes: But only if it is combined with a black pepper that contains piperine. Tumeric is otherwise poorly absorbed. The indian people who consume large amounts tumeric in their diet through their curry dishes are noted to have the lowest incidence of alzheimer's disease.

Turmeric: Turmeric contains cucuminoids like curcumin. This has anti-inflammatory & antioxidant effects. It increases Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor which might help w brain functioning & v risk of some brain conditions such as Alzheimer's. It may help w treatment of arthritis & is reported to have anticarcinogenic effects. Agree that it should be taken with black pepper.
