How hard is it to recover from an eating disorder once you already have it?

Commit to treatment: Like any other disorder, recovery from an eating disorder requires a commitment to treatment by the patient with an understanding that some treatment requirements may sometimes appear unpleasant to you. Having a good rapport and communication with you treatment team improves your odds . Good luck.

Multidisciplinary: A multidisciplinary approach to eating disorders is the most effective. This should include the assistance of a dietician, primary care physician, psychotherapist, support groups, and a psychiatrist. This is usually most successful when initiated in an inpatient setting, followed by a structured multidisciplinary outpatient program.
