A member asked:

What are the most important things that clog your arteries?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Clots: Deposits of cholesterol can trigger inflammation in the artery wall and this can slowly accumulate and plug the artery. More commonly the inflammation in the wall causes a clot to form and that clot gets larger, like a snowball rolling downhill. That clot can plug the artery where it forms or float downstream and plug a smaller artery, getting larger as it travels. That stops blood flow.
