Uncertain cause.: While a few studies have linked cyclic vomiting syndrome (cvs) with migraines (or a family history of migraines), we still don't know what exactly causes a person to develop cvs. Awareness of this disease is increasing slowly in the medical field, and research is ongoing. Treatment options include anti-nausea medications such as Promethazine (phenergan) or ondansetron (zofran).
