Dr. Kevin Windisch
Pediatrics 25 years experience
Yes: Many women are able to put two babies to breast at the same time. It takes some practice and coordination, however.
Dr. Robert Kwok
Pediatrics 33 years experience
Yes: Twins can be breastfed or bottle fed at the same time, or fed individually. If the twins demand more breastmilk than mom makes, then formula can be given after breastfeeding.

Is it necessary to avoid feeding my child dairy after a bout of gastroenteritis?

Dr. Cory Annis
Internal Medicine and Pediatrics 29 years experience
No: Sense & science disagree. With diarrhea, cells that digest the sugar in dairy (lactose) get stripped away. Then fluids pass right through undigested, worsening diarrhea. It takes a while for those cells to return. However, studies suggest avoiding dairy doesn't help kids get better faster, but does help adults! yogurt seems ok for both, though, as lactose is already digested by helpful bacteria.

Yes: We start cereal at 4 months of age in formula fed babies and 6 months for breast fed babies. There is little benefit for cereal prior to those times.
A 41-year-old member asked:

Can someone get a burner and concussion at the same time from basketball?

1 doctor answer2 doctors weighed in
Dr. William Goldie
Pediatric Neurology 48 years experience
Yes: Sudden stinging down arms or legs is often called a burner. Trauma to nerves in neck or shoulder can do this. Trauma to the head with confusion, nausea, and alteration in consciousness can be considered a concussion. Both types of symptoms may occur during a major trauma event.
