Will ?traction help your herniated cervical disc?

It may: A lot depends on the location of the herniation. Proceed with caution and consider starting with gentle manual traction prior to mechanical traction.

Possible: Traction may offer temporary relief of symptoms & can be done as frequently as you want with most people tolerating between 15-20lbs traction before that feels uncomfortable with higher weights. Generally, traction applied with the neck in slight flexion & avoiding any extension is best usually for 15-20 minutes 3 times daily. The good news is that most herniations get better without surgery.
