Years of use: Turmeric has been used traditionally for a very long time as a food coloring and spice, and for a number of disorders, it us used medicinally and preventatively in some cultures. Long term: possible indigestion, nausea, diarrhea, may cause liver problems, might cause ulcers if you take too much. It can also increase bleeding, so don't use before surgery. It may interact with a number of meds.
