Dr. PAUL EUN answered

Breast feeding?: Progestin-only pills are most commonly used in women who are breast feeding because estrogen can cause a decline in the breast milk production, especially when it's started soon after delivery. Other women are on it because they cannot take estrogen for various reasons. It's slightly less effective than the combination pill and must be taken at the same time daily.
