Too non-specific: Close to 50% of women with pcos are overweight, but conversely 50% are normal weight or below. Body weight is not one of the diagnostic criteria for pcos because it is so non-specific. So trouble losing weight by-itself doesn't point that way. The diagnostic findings are: irregular periods, clinical or blood evidence of excess androgen, and/or polycystic appearance on ultrasound.
