A member asked:

What effective methods or medicines can you use to reduce painful backaches when on your period?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Common sense remedy: Gentle stretching, hot or cold packs to the affected area and of course, if necessary, nsaids such as ibuprofen. Longterm use of omega 3 fatty acids has been shown to act as an anti- inflammatory and may result in decreased pain. Exercise has been shown to diminish uncomfortable physical and psychological menstrual symptoms. If your back ache is not helped by these things, consult your doc.
